I’m pretty sure we didnt, because you seem to think that a couple of initial looks of confusion over someone doing something they’ve never been seen doing before is the same thing as shaming.

As far as I recall, no one made fun of Big Mac for dressing in drag. They were caught off guard at first, but no one tried to shame him or make him feel stupid for it.

And that screen of Rainbow Dash is her saying she and Scootaloo are still going to win. She’s being competitive, not mean.

The only thing that made Big Mac feel any shame was that he started not playing very sportsmanlike. He went too far and got Applebloom and himself disqualified. That’s what upset him, that he wasn’t able to get his sister the blue ribbon.

Seriously, people try too hard to find reasons to be offended by MLP.

GET OFF MAH LAWN *ahem* The article NGM links is literally how the fandom started. Some members of 4chan decided to delve further after reading the article and went, “Wait, this guy is full of it. This is pretty good.” They started spamming 4chan, which got the expected backlash, which caused more attention. (These early wars are also where grimdark ponies came from, including the imfamous Cupcakes, made to try to disgust fans. Turns out some people were still into it.) But I must admit this is all before my time. I didn’t start watching until halfway through the second season.

I do not recall how far in, but it was during the first season I started watching after hype started hitting some of the forums I frequent. I did go back and watch from the beginning though, no jumping in half way.

I started watching halfway through season 2 when someone had taken the effort to write about how hype it is in game informer.
