 Sans can see different timelines like asgore and flowey. Asgore is a very strong soul and flowey was a human/monster hybrid that became neither human nor monster. and the stuff that sans said when he takes frisk to the restaurant in MTT resort implies that he DID kill humans before meeting toriel. Perhaps Chara wasn’t the first human and sans was there to keep an earlier human from even reaching snowdin and absorbed its soul and then went to the surface or…

What if the two skelebros are humans who were killed by asgore, brought back by Alphys’s experiments. One with their human memories and one without? It is something that alphys would do before she grows a conscience.
