this seems like a very … reducto ad absurdum sort of cartoon

i don’t want to come across as a person with no sense of humor, but this kind of thinking really frustrates me

the point of “political correctness” should not be censorship (“you’re forbidden to say anything offensive !!”), but empathy (“i don’t want to say that, it’s offensive”)

you can be uproariously funny without demeaning or belittling a person or group’s culture or identity

and if you think your ability to makes jokes or cartoons hinges on your freedom to be offensive, you’re probably just not that funny ( looking at you, sarah silverman, louis ck, joan rivers, etc. )

“Political correctness” is used when a) People have no creativity, b) People have no idea what “not being an asshole” truly means.

The cartoon says “I can only find humor in harming people - if you forbid me from harming people I am cannot DO ANYTHING.”

If you literally can’t enjoy your life without committing emotional violence you need help.

weresquirrel

this is a very important point to make

it’s not censorship, but empathy

Ha it’s funny because people are missing the point of the cartoon XD

Whether or not a person is offensive depends on the person saying the jokes. Someone like Louis ck making a joke about the girl from schindlers list yelling goodbye Jew is funny and not offensive because he doesn’t actually hate Jews but frat guys making rape jokes is offensive because it’s something they would and often do.
