THIS IS A GOOD DAY!

(Note: This is not finite. The Republican Party and Trump still have to respond but…things are looking up.)

As others have pointed out, this is NOT any kind of official disqualification. As long as a person meets a few very minimal requirements (e.g., natural-born citizen, over the age of 35, not a convicted felon), ANY American can run for president.

If we want Trump not to be our president, we’ll still need to be sure to vote for someone else.

This is true.

For all of those reblogging, reblog with this caption!

A speaker from the White House did that Trump should be disqualified for what he said. (Which is awesome!)

But as of right now, that has no legal grounding.

Trump is still in the race. He’s just gotten to the point where even a speaker in the White House (who normally don’t comment on the presidential races) are saying that he should be disqualified.

It’s still huge from a socio-political perspective because, again, someone affiliated with the White House basically broke the unwritten rule of silence and bashed Trump. And it’s a good day because of that!

But as the above blog said, Trump is still in the race and we still need to be wary.
