The Sun is freely giving up all of that energy. Hell, 99% of it is freely given to the vaccuum of space never to intercept Earth at all. The Sun is basically just giving it away free, all of it, for nothing at all. TAKE IT, USE IT, MAKE IT DO COOL THINGS.
