Gonna rant a little about let’s play videos I see nowadays. I know and accept people can edit videos to be a “best of” for that intent, and jump cuts for long pauses or repetitive moments like for timing a puzzle and messing up a multitude of times (which said moments can be montages or bloopers), but what happened to enjoying a raw let’s play for the experience and commentary for almost every moment a gamer may have enjoyed?
It’s great if you can constantly put out “best of’s” for each episode, but don’t leave the experiences behind or think they’re less of a video because it’s the raw moment with ups and downs.
I release mostly raw let’s plays because I want you to experience the games with me. I cut out pauses and said repetitive moments, but I always took “let’s play” literally as “let us play this game together.” Now it just feels like it can be a race for “who uploads first, soonest and gets the most monetization and attention while editing each video into a quick run through the best moments?”
Just because the game has already been played, it doesn’t make the experience any less genuinely worthwhile.
That’s why I stopped following diction, chilled and most of the creatures.
