Whenever I see anything about how powerful some anime/comic characters are, there is invariably someone going “why are you guys not talking about <Insert Dragonball Z character> he’s way more powerful than any of these guys.”
Like, are you not aware that that’s because the show is really shit, it’s gone on so long and with every season the new problem has been twice as powerful as the last and it always ends with like Goku finding a way to be three times as powerful or some shit, then repeat for the next season.
At one point or another you should just stop taking a show seriously.
I actually liked the most recent movie where [SPOILERS INCOMING!] Freeza comes back again, even More powerful than ever before! Of course in the meantime Goku and Vigeta have been training with the God of destruction and are Already stronger than his new form, so they hold back and just kind of toy with him. When Freeza realizes this he just blows up the earth, since he can survive in a vacuum and they can’t. Thankfully for our heroes said god of destruction decided to use that as a teachable moment to stop holding back and treating life and death fights like a fricking game, reverses time a bit, and gives them a chance to once again kill Freeza before he can blow up the planet. Still has a dues ex machina of bringing the dead back to life, but I liked the different take from the usual underdog overcomes with determination story.
In all honesty, the only character who is a major threat was Buu. And it’s a good thing that Mr Satan managed to convert him to good.
