just a thought: sapphire was supposed to “die” (her physical form, at least) but she is saved through ruby’s gayness. it is literally the opposite of the bury your gays trope. i love steven universe
oh and then ruby was gonna REALLY die, gem broken and all, and sapphire saved her. they then go on to create a new, third lesbian. everything about this episode spits in the face of bury your gays.
