benson illustrates the self-defeating mindset of defending capitalism, with all its inherent inequality, on the grounds that “maybe next time, i’ll be the one who gets lucky and strikes it rich while everyone else has nothing”
Or he illustrates how redistribution of wealth totally removes enjoyment out of life’s challenges and rewards. There are no lessons learned and we all merely get by equally like apathetic hamsters running our wheels and living ration to ration. Those aren’t happy kids, and we could be like them some day.
man you’re a bummer
Yeah, folks fucking LOVE the challenge of barely paying for the bare necessities of living. Such a fucking joy to think that I’m one accident or illness away from a monetary pit I’ll never dig myself out of even with this shitball insurance my state has kneecapped, while the 1% accrue literally more money than it is possible to spend, amounts they have no actual conception of other than MOAR NUMBERS, while corporations keep an iron grip on wages and hours to keep the workforce starved.
It’s a goddamn party. Hallelujah.
(Jesus fuck, the unbridled ignorance on display there.)
