What they mean: I've never thought critically about any of these issues and your perspective is different and that scares me. I like being able to brush this stuff off. Can't you just let me brush you off? In fact, you should also be laughing.
What they say: But it's funny!
What they mean: My ability to laugh at the same old tired shit over and over is more important than your lived experience.
