Batman the Television Series S2E58: Flop Goes the Joker

when facing Batman’s greatest enemy Alfred disarmed him, schooled him, whooped him, and had him running with his tail between his legs

Jared Leto was never seen again

Look, if I haven’t said it once, I’ve said it ten to the third power times, Alfred is best butler.

Alfred has everything across all generations.
He’s a fighter who can rival batman, he’s super sassy and genuinely cares for bruce. He is always calm and collected.

As much as I’d like to believe that… that wasn’t always the case.  When Alfred first appeared in the Batman comics, he was an overweight clean shaven butler trying to be a detective and only solving crimes by accident (or with Batman’s help).  Kinda’ like an early Inspector Gadget.

It wasn’t until 1943 Batman movie serials had Alfred represented by a slender man with a thin mustache that DC decided that was a better way to go with the character, and he then morphed in to the awesome Alfred we have today.

well I like the alfred we’ve had for the last 70 years
