This is extremely sad because the tweet was made by someone who works on Steven Universe expressing how Steven and Peridot weren’t romantically interested in each other (okay fine), but then people used that tweet to justify bullying people (of course, big fucking surprise). Mcburnett took the tweet down and put this up, and now is getting shit for telling people not to bully and getting accused of Condoning Terrible Things™ as per usual for anti-shippers/the tumblr SJ crowd.
The same thing happened with Ian and Amber who also worked/work on Steven Universe who spoke out against the bullying and then got accused of being terrible people condoning horrible abuse once again because people pulled their words completely out of context (and in this case it was to defend Zamii who did not remotely deserve any of the bullying she was subjected to under people’s false sense of ‘justice’).

For the first time ever, social media gives fans a way to directly interact with the people who make the things they enjoy, and this is a wonderful thing for many reasons. Yet, people on this site just use this to feel superior and harass content creators just pushing them away from ever listening to anyone. This is the reason a lot of them have either become hard to get a hold of or completely shut themselves off from fans altogether and in extreme cases even deleted blogs. 

How many times are these people going to harass the Steven Universe crew and content creators in general? It’s pathetic and revolting and if you contribute to this behavior you should be completely ashamed of yourself.
