Garnet personally told Steven that she was a fusion; and, while it was spur of the moment, she had been planning on explaining it to him later on, because she knew he would accept her (something she hadn’t known for sure prior) and wanted to be the one to tell him herself.

Pearl didn’t tell Steven anything. But it’s more than that. She never planned on telling Steven anything.

A member of Crewniverse has been quoted on saying that Steven knows the least about Pearl, and she’s worked to make it that way. And who can blame her? Who wouldn’t prefer to make themselves the brave and noble knight, fighting for a cause; rather than the once lost slave- one in a million?
