*banging my fists on a table* LET CASHIERS HAVE CHAIRS

… cashiers dont have chairs where you live? wtf

in america: if youre not standing, youre not working

in europe if youre working youre working. chairs help you. what the fuck is up wih america

HOLD UP

PEOPLE IN OTHER COUNTRIES GET TO SIT WHILE WORKING???

I had a job once where if we even leaned against something we were considered lazy. “If you can lean you can clean!”

“If you tell me that, you’re a feckin’ twat”

For real though the assumption in America seems to be that the customer wants to see your hard work which is probably the dumbest

How about mutual respect and we leave it at that? Tends to work out pretty well.

Oh, the absolute worst part is the whole “the customer is always right” policy most stores have because I can tell you first hand that the customer is almost never right. when I worked at a cold sandwhich shop, this one customer insisted we had hot sandwhiches but we kept telling him we didn’t. Another time this one woman let her child STAND on the table and hit the hanging lights which made the whole light bar sway while her other kid wasted all our ice.
