 they said that, yes, claiming to be someone’s coping character is bad and shouldn’t happen but that alone shouldn’t damn the whole otherkin community as ‘toxic’. a few bad things shouldn’t damn a whole group of people.

Ok, then yes that is true. It’s unfair if like a few ppl do it and the whole group gets blamed.

No silver weren’t. Infact silver repeatedly said they aren’t damming all otherkin or fictionkin for the actions of the few. The other person wouldn’t accept that and kept acting like they were generalizing. You can check silvers blog if you wanna be sure. The posts are right there for you to mske your own judgement

I listed every fallacy they were using including the no true scottsman (anyone who X isn’t a real Y) and the hindsight biased (that’s what I meant all along)

And their whole argument falls apart when they claim they were mad at me for using your example when they were getting pissy at me before I even mentioned you. Bottom line was they were overgeneralizing my statement and trying to apply it to all otherkin despite me explicitly saying it’s only the otherkin who claim kin with coping characters and they refused to admit that they were wrong.
