the author of this post: I’m bitter because a children’s book told entirely from the perspective of a preteen-to-teenage boy didn’t include every single minor detail about every single character he met. Characters obviously have to share everything about themselves with everyone because that’s what humans do, especially figures of authority (like schoolteachers) with minors.
