My main interest in Steven Universe is seeing the crystal gems do inappropriate things like make a U turn where they’re not supposed to or tax evasion.
Since the Crystal Gems live completely off the grid, they’re technically always committing tax evasion.

Well greg pays for everything and their temple has it’s own energy source but more importantly, the temple may be considered a religious building so it would be tax exempt.
