I was contacted by a client who I’d finished a website for over a year ago.
Client: Why did my site crash?
Me: Let me send you a retainer contract and I can take a look at it once I’ve got a signed contract and the initial payment.
Client: I can’t pay you! Can’t you just fix it?
Me: No, that wasn’t part of our contract. I have no idea why it isn’t working. It will take some time to figure out what is wrong and how to fix it.
Client: Okay. Do that. But I can’t pay you.
Me: Then, I can’t work.
Client: How do you make any money then?
Me: …
Client: …
Me: …what?
