Me: Let me send you a retainer contract and I can take a look at it once I’ve got a signed contract and the initial payment.

Client: I can’t pay you! Can’t you just fix it?

Me: No, that wasn’t part of our contract. I have no idea why it isn’t working. It will take some time to figure out what is wrong and how to fix it.
