Client: (Monday) I would like a one-on-one training session.
Me:
OK; I
can do 2.30 on Thursday.
Client:
Tuesday at that time is perfect.
Me:
No problem.
Me: (one minute later) Sorry, I’ve just noticed you said Tuesday. I’m afraid I can’t do Tuesday; I offered you Thursday at 2.30.
Me: (an hour later) Just following up. Again, there was a miscommunication and I am NOT available tomorrow. Please let me know if that time on Thursday works for you.
Client: (Tuesday morning) I am looking forward to our one-to-one session this afternoon.
Me: I’m sorry, I’ve been trying to reach you. That was a mistake. I can still book you for Thursday afternoon.
Client: (Tuesday, 1:30 PM) I thought it was booked for an hour’s time?
Me: When we emailed before I offered Thursday, which I think you read as Tuesday. I am not available this afternoon, and can only do Thursday.
Client:
(Wednesday) Well, I guess since you missed our appointment
tomorrow will work. What time?
Me: Again, I’m available tomorrow, Thursday, at 2:30 PM.
Client: OK!
Thursday, 2:30. I show up early for our training session. My client does not show up at all.
