Why context is important

“matpat gave the pope undertale” sounds way different than “matpat met the pope while representing the YouTube gaming community and it’s customary to give the pope a gift that’s reflective of the culture your represent and he chose undertale, a game about choices, consequences and reflect and peace/love”

People are so desperate to hate on game theory

I dont really get why people hate him so much.  I mean sure a lot of his theories are stretches or obviously wrong.  But they’re the kinds of things that are fun/interesting to think about, even if it is just to dismiss as wrong.  Besides, who among us hasnt come up with or embraced an absurdly implausible headcanon at least once in our lives?

And frankly, I watched his video on giving the Pope Undertale, and I agree with most of what he said.  I dont really understand why the Pope was meeting with representatives of Youtube, but thats not MattPat’s problem.

Because whenever they hear something about him it’s usually from people who don’t like his theories. They never actually watched his show so they assume he just talks out of his ass. And admittedly, there are a few times he has done that. But because they only hear people not liking his theories, they assume a majority of his videos are bad. Ironically enough, his video about the pope was about this very subject. So really, they are proving his point.
