Why context is important

“matpat gave the pope undertale” sounds way different than “matpat met the pope while representing the YouTube gaming community and it’s customary to give the pope a gift that’s reflective of the culture your represent and he chose undertale, a game about choices, consequences and reflect and peace/love”

Yeah, “matpat met the pope while representing the YouTube gaming community” is actually even more ridiculous so I’m not sure context makes this one better

The real context is “MatPat gave the Pope Undertale while also comparing being a gamer to being Muslim or Queer because he’s MatPat and he’s an egotistical asshat”.

No he didn’t your still taking things out of context, probably based on hearsay. He used Muslims to explain what the availability heuristic is. He wasn’t comparing gamers to Muslims. He mentioned Orlando and said “(the world) needs peace more than ever now” he wasn’t comparing gamers to the Orlando victims. Maybe actually watch the video to look at what actually happened and stop spreading hearsay.

I did watch the video, and I stand by what I said. He mentioned all that to make his case for sympathy to gamers. And let me tell you, that’s fucked up. He used two very much discriminated against minority groups in the US as examples on why people should he nice to gamers. That’s what he did.

He used a discriminated group to explain a social phenomenon called availability heuristic. He didn’t say “gamers are as oppressed as Muslims” he said “this is what availability heuristic is and how it’s what forms stereotypes including a real world example of how it works. Now here is how the availability heuristic applies to what I was representing when I was invited by the pope to have an Interview”

At this point it sounds more like you’re looking for reasons to hate either mat pat or undertale. While I can respect you have a different opinion, I cannot respect spreading false information.
