They symbolize the personal achievements of that particular dragon, beginning when they settle into their own lair.  It’s a rite of passage symbolizing that the dragon has come of age!

Unless you are a dragon yourself, you can’t just call your “fairy dust collection” your “hoard”.  It’s your collection.

Seriously, stop appropriating dragon culture.  It’s not that hard.
