Seriously don’t kin with people’s OCs, you don’t know what this character means to them, and you’re taking agency from the artist/owner. The only time it’s okay is if you’ve gotten permission from the owner to kin with the OC, otherwise keep it to yourself, in private spaces.

Also remember, some of these OCs are more or less their owner, their insecurities, their heart and to kin with them w/o consent is selfish…I know some can’t control who/what they kin with, but if it’s someone’s character and you haven’t gotten consent, please keep it private.

If an artist or owner of an OC doesn’t want you kinning with their creation it is not ableist, and you need to respect their decision.

I’ve had friends go into panic/anixety attacks over important OCs being kinned with without their consent, and it’s important to know that it may seem harmless to do this but for some their OCs are everything to them.

SO DON’T KIN WITH ORIGINAL CHARACTERS WITHOUT CONSENT.

And please don’t tag them as your OCs or inspirations/FCs for them, neither.

kin isn’t exactly a choice. if you’re kin, you’re kin. but you don’t have to let the creator know you’re kin. keep it in...
