okay yeah i dont agree with being kin w/ vincent/vinny/etc, but being antikin as a whole is ableist. lots of people who are neurodivergent use being kin as a coping mechanism or some people who have delusions have delusions that make them id as characters

I’m not antikin, I just disagree with people who kin with living people or fictional characters. It’s one thing to relate to a character, that’s perfectly fine but to go out in the world and say that you are actually the fictional character or a living human is disrespectful to the creator or the living human. If you wanna claim you were an animal or human who has died in a past life, that’s fine. I respect reincarnation. but to go out in the world and say you’re actually someones OC, that’s just disrespectful. You don’t know the OCs story. For all you know the OC could be based on the creators own history so claiming you’re someones OC is claiming you’re the creator which leads back to the “don’t kin with living people” thing.

The only time kinning with an OC is okay is if you or a friend made the OC specifically to be you. because that character actually is you.
