Well, his love makes a lot of sense if you consider one important fact.

The top sprite is a normal Persian.  The bottom is a shiny Persian.  The main thing to note is that one has grey inner-ears while the other has pink.  Now look at Giovanni’s Persian’s ears.

Giovanni has a shiny Persian.

It’s no wonder he loves it to bits!
