I was watching the episode “All Chalked Up” the other day and this scene was really hard to sit through because it brought a lot of bad memories.
Lets just say the kids at school weren’t the friendliest towards the artist types. I never got treated as bad as Bubbles here, nobody broke my pencils, crayons or whatever I was using to make art, but I was often made fun of because I wanted to draw as opposed to playing sports. I did have some other fellow students who supported my artist talent, but those insults still hurt. To this day I still feel the after effects, I often hesitate to post artwork because I get worried that people will find it pointless or just upright tell me I’m waisting my life.
However my love of drawing is worth it.
Remember you are in charge of your life, you should spend it doing something you love, wether it’s drawing, playing sports, or writing stories. If other people don’t understand why you do what you do, that’s their problem. Don’t let anybody tell you not to do something you love.
Also Buttercup did apologize to Bubbles at the end of the episode.
