Dear people calling to inquire about applications,
Everyone, even those who answer the phone to get you in touch with a manager, are part of the hiring process. Calling about an application is part of the hiring process. So maybe don’t tell the person answering the phone and taking a message for the hiring manager that it’d be “really convenient for you to get an interview today” when you’re not even sure if your application processed.
Like, yeah I bet it’d be convenient for ya. But that’s not how it works. And now you look like an entitled punk during the hiring process.
