A company hired me to create a website for them. I accepted the job and they made an appointment to show me around and explain to me what they are doing and such. They gave me a brief tour of the office, but didn’t really give me any information about what they wanted. Before the client left me to work, I had to flag him down to ask a few basic questions.

Me: So what colors you want me to use?

Client: Well… I don’t know that’s why we hired you.

Me: Okay, which color is associated with the company?

Client:  Green.

Me: All right and what information do you want on your website?

Client: I don’t care! Just make me a website! Do whatever!

Me: Uh… Okay do you have some text for me to use on the website?

Client: I have this document. Do something with this, I guess.

The he walked away. I had a look at the document – it was a write-up about some property they’d just bought across town

Eventually I cobbled together some info from everyone else at the company, but it was like pulling teeth.

How are you gonna do it if you don’t have any info? That’s not being “spoon fed” that’s literally required. Like asking an artist to paint a picture of you when you’ve never told them or showed them what you look like
