The problem is, this was the vote of the people. This is the apparent mindset of the majority of America.
The people who would apparently WANT a bigot in power, who would WANT a world like 1563, are living among the people who would be hurt badly by such a person.
That is why people in America are terrified right now, and I don’t blame them.
But that is not a reason to give in to fear!
It’s already a new day, everyone. Numbers will keep crunching, and the electoral vote hasn’t been taken yet.
Despite the kind of picture this election has painted of ignorant Americans, there are millions of Americans who want change! They are WITH YOU, and they are willing to take a stand against any injustices to see that change realized!
Keep moving forward, everyone! It might seem like things are “over”, but this is a new beginning! There is still hope yet! Don’t give up!
It’s not the mindset of the majority, clinton won the popular vote. but it was the result of gerrymandering and a campaign run on hate. And even if the republican dominated congress doesn’t pass his policies (which is unlikely) his presence is still something that will perpetuate hate towards POC, LGBT and women. Not to mention the only person who can stop him from launching nukes is the SoD who can be fired and replaced if they say no.
