Can someone explain like i’m five how someone wins the popular vote but the electoral college picks someone else

State A has 15 electoral votes: 51/100 people vote for Trump, so all 15 electoral votes are his.

State B has 14 electoral votes: 60/100 people vote for Clinton, so all 14 electoral votes are hers.

Trump wins the election with 15 electoral votes.
But overall, 91 people voted for Trump and 109 voted for Clinton.
Just extrapolate this to 50 states and that’s how it happens.

That’s so fucked up.
