I don't think a lot of upset Americans realize that threatening the president of the United States [on social media] is a Class E felony (2-5 years).  FYI: this has always been the case - for Clinton, Bush, Obama, and now for Trump. Thought you should know, especially because there is a long history of it being enforced. Oh, and no, death threats aren’t constitutionally protected under the First Amendment.
