Silver Tongue
Hunting keeps the population in balance and kills the animals swiftly, depending on how good of a shot you are. Without it, the animals would overpopulate and there wouldn't be enough food for all of them, resulting in a famine on their part. And I'm pretty sure being shot or bleeding out is much quicker than starving to death.

exactly! the whole point of taking a hunters education course and getting certified is to learn the ethics and how to take an animal out as quickly and painlessly as possible.

the alternative would be for rangers to constantly go around trapping animals, carting them off to animal hospitals, and having them euthanized one by one. hunting is definitely the better solution to this problem, but people will be so fuckin quick to jump to conclusions without knowin jack about the subject.

Not to mention that overpopulation of one species can effective all the others, either animals with the same diet or animals with a diet of animals with a similar diet. Example, animal A is overpopulated and eats all the food including animal B food. Animal B population goes down due to lack of food and animal C which eats animal B also goes down.
