Apparently Blizzard is trying to arbitrarily balance Symmetra so that she’s more useful on offense.
I can say with complete authority that trying to get your class with the smaller sentries to be offensively-viable rather than staying on defense with larger sentries is a bad idea. Here’s a handy graphic explaining why:
