Not strictly Canadian news, but this is big. 

This also goes to show that grassroots opposition can even stop pipelines (or at the very least change their routes) that are 90% complete. 

Keep this in mind with the approval of the Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion and Line 3 pipelines (which were approved this week in Canada).
