i love that so many people were legitimately worried about this poor squid’s whereabouts that nintendo specifically had to address this
well just because they say she’ll be “back” doesn’t necessarily mean she’ll be “alive”, just that she’ll be in the game at some point
There’s a big statue of her in Inkopolis Square to honour her sacrifice that gets demolished by an angry mob after the time skip when Marie gets accused of treason
She was locked inside a supercomputer by marie and left to die. You find some recordings of the incident. Then you send Marie on a raft into the middle of the ocean to die.
