miscommunication or hearing things wrong is super great for humor but with drama it just feels really cheap and laaaazy =m=
like ‘oh no everything is going TOO well but i can’t think of a way to add tension or energy, better have these characters jump to conclusions, make assumption, walk in at the EXACT WRONG MOMENT of the conversation, and not talk to each other until i reach my angst quota’
The worst offender is whenever someone eavesdrops on a conversation and only stays for half of it because they think the people talking are talking shit about them
