let’s just take a moment to appreciate sokka’s character developement from a sexist idiot to a man who sees women as equal warriors and who is beyond proud that his girlfriend is a motherfucking badass.

This is what I love about Sukka. He grew up in the south pole knowing he has to be the leader and had that perception of only men can fight or do things right. Katara was always pissed at him and called him out for being sexist, but he didn’t care. You don’t really listen to family members…It takes someone like Suki to smack every inch of sexism in him. He got his ass kicked and he was humiliated, to the point he asked for warrior training from her. After that, Sokka became a better person who knew how to treat girls better, he was clearly disgusted by Hahn’s sexism by saying that Yue had the most “perks”. Here we are, two seasons later being so impressed by her. He can be overprotective, but at the same time he knows she can take care of herself, 

Can we talk about Suki though? She didn’t try to humor or love him into being a decent person. She fucking decked him and let him sort it out for himself.
