Especially since it was directed Yimou Zhang, a fantastic Chinese director. Well done, we pretty much just said that we don’t want Chinese film industry movies over here…
actually it flopped in the US. in China it did really well to the tune of 171 million. So literally the only message sent is that US audiences won’t watch movies with Asians in them.
Also, Iron Fist has always been a white guy who was taught ancient martial arts, and the only people who seem to be trashing are people who don’t know jack and shit about comic books, think every Asian person in the world knows martial arts, or a combination of the two.
Funny that the gif OP decided to use was from Kill Bill. AKA: A movie about an American slaughtering tons of Asian people with a katana that borrows heavily from Chinese movies and action stars. Heck, the bride wore a yellow and black outfit similar to one Bruce Lee wore.
Clearly there is no sense of irony here.
