But does that make the story false?

Technically yes, since BioWare’s publicly denied that that was her job title.

but what was reported as what the facts as they were since her own twitter confirmed it

he also displayed her own work and demo reel

she later changed her twitter and linkdn afterwards

saying he’s cancer doesn’t make him a liar when he just showed what was out there before EA presented their alternative facts

also EA/BioWare hasnt said who was in charge of Facial Animations

was nobody in charge?

is that what was the problem?

“ but what was reported as what the facts as they were since her own twitter confirmed it “

That’s why I said ‘technically’.

Just to be clear, I’m not blaming Ralph for anything here. He reported based on what he knew at the time, I can’t really fault him for that. Same way I don’t blame her harassment on Ralph, cause trolls would have found another reason to go after her at some point anyway or would have just gone after someone else to entertain themselves.

As for who was ultimately in charge of the facial animations, that’s probably in the end credits, so once someone finishes the game we’ll know who the dumb-ass was who though it was OK to release the game in that state.

Whoever runs Quality assurance is who should be fired. … but i don’t think EA has that position filled at any of their studios

I’ve come to learn over the years from ex-QA testers that the fault generally doesn’t lie with them. It’s their job to point out the numerous bugs that come up in development, it’s then the job of the developers to fix them. A more likely scenario is that somewhere in some QA studio, likes a gigantic list of obvious bugs that were pointed out time and time and time again to the developers, and the developers either ignored those bugs, or weren’t allowed the time or budget from EA to fix them.

QA reports everything. More than players will ever see or dream about. QA, however, aren’t the ones in charge of fixing things, or deciding what gets fixed, or deciding the scheduling for how much time there is for fixing things.

Trust me, EA QA will have hundreds of tickets open about the animations, dozens of email threads, meeting minutes in wikis, recorded escallations, etc. And they all end with a producer, artist, or designer saying “push for next milestone”, “not a bug”, “will not fix”, etc.

Seriously, do you really think the people they hire and train to be nitpicky, anal, obsessive critics are going to not notice or find the surface-laying garbage the average joe finds on day one?
