This is so funny because it’s legit true the vikings did this to prevent other ppl to invade the one island they liked for themself.
It was also a marketing thing. The sold land in Greenland to people, and kept Iceland to themselves. So when people moved to Greenland and found nothing but ice, they couldn’t go home to warn others because it was expensive as hell to send letters and there was only boats to do that during this period. So people where swindled.
