This made me so angry

The high school I went to we were allowed to have whatever hairstyle we wanted.

On girl had half a side of her head down to her shoulders with the other side shaved

Our quarterback had hair halfway down his back and would braid and weave it

Our more outgoing classmates would dye their hair in rainbows

My little sister even had Smurf blue hair for a semester

To grow up where I did and how I did, makes me grateful. So grateful that I didn’t have to deal with what these kids are dealing with

But it makes me mad. Oh it makes me soooo mad. Because kids are having to deal with this

I’m always completely baffled when I see things like this. In Germany, no one, black, white, latinx, whatever, was ever bullied/put in detention over their hairstyle. This is truly fucked up.

This shit pisses me off so much. Let the girls have their hair whatever way they please and certainly don’t fucking BAN them from doing shit they enjoy that contributes to their education just because you have a fucking problem with their hair. These teachers and this whole school system need to take some fucking sensitivity training or something jesus christ.
