Piccolo: Vegeta, I think I understand. And, one day, so will Trunks.
It hurts!!! 😭
One of my favorite scenes in all of Dragon Ball. Such character growth. Vegeta really was the best thing about Z…
He was my favorite thing about Z for sure. And really he was one of the earliest examples of character growth I was exposed to. I remember hating him at first. He was a bad guy, I adored Gohan, and he was mean to Gohan! What wasn’t to hate? Then I came stopped watching and came back during the android saga and Trunks became my favorite. I remember tolerating Vegeta because he seemed like less of a punk and because he and Bulma were cute, but I still thought he was kinda annoying and too stubborn.
When I was told by a friend later about THIS scene it blew my mind. Vegeta became my favorite simply because of his arc and the way he grew but still stayed himself ^_^
This scene and at the end of the series when he finally admits that Goku is the better fighter, shit that hit hard. Cuz he was finally able to focus on being his best self than THE best.
Z frustrated me sometimes cuz there was this super interesting character growing and developing in the background while Goku just kinda plot armored his way through everything.
YES! And I loved that one! It’s crazy how much a character can develop so subtlety ya know? Because that was what it was. Subtle. That might be because he’s in the background (I never cared for Goku, but that could be because I never watched much of Dragonball so I never got attached to him) but yeah Vegeta had the best arc.
Also, apparently in Super he gets some amazing scenes. And I’ve seen a few of them and they’re GREAT! I definitely recommend it.
vageta will always be a better father and husband than goku will ever be. Vageta canonically is the only saiyan with the capacity to love
