It’s really funny that during orientation the managers were all like “never work off the clock! When you’re out on the floor during break do not wear your vest or name tag and have your phone out to prevent this”. I had to contain my laughter so hard omg. You don’t even have to work at a place for people to ask you if you work there or demand your help without asking if you do. -Abby

I was once in Petsmart right? I had my Best Buy shirt on under a jacket, so I had some blue peeking out around my collar. I’d also had my work shoes on but had changed into blue jeans. I was a customer. I had two bags of fish in my arms and I was looking at cat toys.

Someone then came up to me unceremoniously and asked where the reptile things were. I figured they saw the fish stuff I had in my arms and thought I’d know, so I told them it was over bear the fish area like an aisle down. They then asked where we got our reptiles from. I told them I don’t know where “they” got any of their pets from. This lady FLIPPED “How could you NOT KNOW where you get your pets?! What do they teach you here?! Are you telling me this store is so incompetent that–” I then interrupted her to tell her I didn’t work at this store and have never worked for Petsmart. She didn’t believe me so I showed her the Best Buy logo on my shirt (they and Petsmart use the same blue.) She then got huffy and said I should ask where they get their fish before buying them and stormed off.

The SAME THING happened at Kroger with a lady over a gift card. And once I’m Michaels when I was in normal-ass clothes years after I quit working for them.

Customers don’t give a shit they just want the NPC’s that are the store’s employees or anyone that remotely resembles that to help them.
