Not likely. Disney’s a corporate juggernaut today but spent a lot of time teetering on the brink of financial destruction back in the day. Much more likely it’s based on Howard Hughes whose name was pretty much the dictionary definition of rich beyond the dream of excess during his lifetime:
Makes sense, especially since he was also known for his eccentricity and he shares a first name with one of those characters
