So a friend of mine just experienced a really shitty transphobic ad on youtube where a woman is talking about a transwoman being allowed in a women’s fighting tournament, complete with constantly referring to said transwoman as a man. The issue was this woman hit another woman too hard and sent her to the hospital, and that’s the argument used in this to speak out against transwomen.
There’s even this shitty comment about how ‘back then’ a man would be put in jail for punching a woman, but now “he” can get paid for it.
This ‘ad’ is nothing but transphobic propaganda, it shouldn’t even BE an ad, but there it is anyway. I don’t know what can be done about it, but I hope word can spread about this so enough people can get youtube to remove it.

here’s the video of the ad, this isn’t just a video on youtube, it’s made itself an advertisement on youtube so it will play on other videos.
This toxic, gross, bullshit.
So yes PLEASE spread the word about it because this really should not be allowed to be an ad and something NEEDS to be done about it.
Its not really transphobic though. Biologically speaking, they are men, even after transitioning, they still have the XY chromosomes. Males are, in general, bulkier, larger, and stronger than women are and thus should compete in mens sports, not womens. For the safety of those involved, for the same reason we have gendered sports in the first place, because even the top woman in boxing comes nowhere near the top men. It not transphobic to point out that by letting trans people compete in a sport that doesn’t match their biological sex gives them unfair advantages/disadvantages (depending on which gender they were born as)
“it’s not really transphobic”
If it wasn’t, it wouldn’t be misgendering the transwoman the ENTIRE time. It doesn’t matter if she was biologically a man, she should still be referred to with female pronouns.
Also: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intergender_wrestling
Mixed wrestling and mixed boxing are both things, by the way.
A woman can be just as capable as kicking a man’s ass as vise-versa.
It’s NOT a matter of gender, it’s a matter of strength and skill and if they REALLY want to balance things out they can give limits and boundaries, basing peoples’ fighting skill not on gender but on their ability.
