what homestuck thoughts are we thinking tonight lads

How Aradia was living in a shitty totalitarian world that conditions its people not to care about death and the mourning of loved ones, so when she dies, no one cares beyond ,”well you can still talk to us, so it’s fine.” And how this is one of the aspects that lead to her being terribly depressed and losing all ability to feel, cause if no one else cares than why should I? But through the magic of Sgrub, she is revived and finds a culture where appreciating and mourning the dead is a regular thing, no matter how morbid it is. And how after this, she is given the opportunity to help and reassure and mourn the millions of kids who had no one else to do so. The millions of kids who weren’t able to help her. And even though the whole black hole thing happened and no one’s even sure that anyone’s still out there anymore, she was finally able to be truly happy.

This makes my heart ache.
