☑ Acknowledge the other party was hurt, and they’re right to feel that way.
☑ Acknowledge your wrongdoing without trying to justify your actions.
☑ Express that you want to make things right with them when they’re ready.
☑ Actually say “sorry” for the terrible thing you did.
☑ Immediately depart to clean your mentor’s castle of wet cake batter and spiders.
