The swords werent used because they werent as powerful as the fully reforged caledfwlch.

Tavros has snowmans lance somehow which is stronger than the fiduspear and has better reach than the daggerlance.
So that leaves the daggerbane ragripper and the spearcane. Why did terezi and kanaya go back to using their old weapons? to be honest? probably aesthetic. it would be 100% in character for them to ditch stronger weapons for ones that fit their aesthetic more.
