fucks me up how many musicals are about poverty and capitalism and human suffering and yet tickets are so expensive that they’re mostly available to rich people
I was in a History of Opera class last winter and our professor wanted us to go see La boheme because it was about a bunch of art students and we could “relate”
and we had to explain to him we none of us had a few hundred spare dollars lying around (and that we didn’t need to go all the way to the theatre to see 20 year olds needing sugar daddies in order to pay for healthcare)
